Every year, the town of Fairfield gets a visit from Old Saint Nick. He arrives on a fire engine with his wife to a crowd of jubilant locals at the Town Green. The visit coincides with the lighting of the town tree, a 90+ foot tall Norway Spruce on the lawn in front of Town Hall (rumor has it’s the tallest lit tree in CT) and the town Menorah.
Along with the Santa Claus cameo, there’s caroling from multiple local school choirs, food trucks, a beer garden, a petting zoo (seriously!), and horse-drawn carriage rides. Plenty of fire pits are scattered around the Town Green to keep your hands warm while you walk under a beautiful canopy of lights.
The tree and Menorah will be lit at 5pm on Saturday December 7th this year (2024). Festivities start at 4:15.
